The Muses is painted using four paint colours (Indian Yellow, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine and Titanium White) mixed to create colours for the background, the dresses may be created from colours outside of the limited paint palette to make them stand out from the composition. The scene is Delphi their home but the pillars and situation is based on Spanish architecture from Cordoba with their clothing and style taking inspiration from Mucha.

POPPY

Poppy has been created as a commission (I am not open to commissions normally unless they appeal to me). This is my first floral work and impasto work.

Poppy is painted using four paint colours (Indian Yellow, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine and Titanium White) mixed to create colours for the sky and grass. The piece is slightly 3D in that Impasto medium has been used to bring the petals and other elements to life.
